Today was pretty good. Her first session downed 106 grams. The second was a probe of cup-drinking skills. They gave her whole milk and worked on 1/8oz at a time, holding the cup to her mouth with the same verbal commands as eating, and she did pretty well. She was willing to take it, but had a hard time keeping the milk from spilling out of the corners of her mouth. She also has a bad habit of biting the cup, probably b/c that's how she always got little sips from her sippy cups - biting the tip to get the liquid to drip into her mouth. They're going to have the head psychologist watch her first session tomorrow to give some ideas on breaking that. Tomorrow she will start a little different schedule during sessions - instead of 5 bites per round, she will get 4 bites and a sip of milk. She still managed to take in about 65 grams of milk that session.
Third and fourth went well - she ended up throwing a little in the 4th session, but she had been pulling at her dress and I thought maybe her bellyband had slipped down. When they checked, it HAD slipped and was pushing up hard on her tube, and when that happens, she usually throws up. And then she did, but it wasn't much. Then she cried for a few minutes b/c her feelings were hurt when they cleaned her up and.....buckled her back in the chair.
Today's total wasn't as much as yesterday, BUT she really only ate food in three sessions instead of four, since she had milk. She still has a rockstar total for only having three eating sessions - 377!!
