Today, Ruthie had speech therapy. She did SO well! She has a very hard time with verbal imitation - everything you ask her to repeat comes out as "eh." She does great with nonverbal imitation, however - she can imitate almost anything you show her. But today came the verbal imitation and it was so exciting to watch! Her speech therapist (phenomenal, by the way) got her to repeat "baqbaq" for a chicken, "baabaa" for a sheep, "up," "out," "byebye," and "pa" for pig. She also had her work on matching items, something I thought came at a later age, and SHE DID IT! She would hand Ruthie a horse and then hold up two other items (all 3D), such as a cow and another horse, and ask her to take the other horse. She did this with several different animals and she got all but one correct! It was so exciting to watch!
And, in true Ruthie fashion, she did attempt to hit her therapist one time when she signed "all done" and was told she couldn't get out yet. Sigh. :)
This girl has some CRAZY bedhead in the mornings.
Nothing like a little Mickey Mouse in your own special chair. :)
