Height: 29ish inches
Height: 29ish inches
Head circumference: 18 inches
Diapers: size 3 still
One-Pieces & Dresses: 12-18 months for most things; pants are still a 12 month or sometimes 6-9month
Sleep'N'Plays (what we use for pjs): 12-18 months, quickly moving toward 18 month
Shoes: size 2s, in the rare event she keeps them on for more than two minutes :)
Teeth: 2 bottom teeth and she is currently cutting 2 top teeth - the ones beside her main top teeth...she's going to look a little jackolantern-ish
Naps:
This has gotten a good bit better in the last few weeks. Some days she takes two naps, some days just one, depending on our schedule, but she's sleeping better. I can usually count on at least an hour. However, if she falls asleep as noon and sleeps just an hour....that's it for the day. Early bedtime those days. :)
Sleeps: 7:00/8:00pm to 8:00/8:30am
Feeds:
still 100% G-tube fed nutritionally. Eating bits and pieces throughout
the day, but not enough to amount to anything; still not drinking
anything.
Personality: Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide open. All.the.time. She is very busy and curious and into everything. The word "no" means nothing to her. Neither do her "hand spankings." :) She is so smart and picks up things so quickly. We are still working in OT on feeding and drinking. We recently switched to a new OT company. Our first OT at that company had left and our replacement was fresh out of school and just was not a good fit for Ruthie. The new company/OT is phenomenal. We've made more progress in three weeks there than in three months at the other place. We've also had to move our PT there, as our PT had to change companies and there was nobody willing to come out to Greer (which I totally understand.) She only has to have PT once a month now, as gross motor is definitely her strong point. We are still doing speech therapy once a month and still strongly looking at a speech apraxia diagnosis at some point, though nothing is carved in stone yet. She can make "a, b, d, h, l, m, n, y" sounds and the occasion "g" but there is zero verbal imitation. She still greatly enjoys Mickey Mouse during her feeding times. We've slowly been introducing mild dairy into her diet, and so far so good, but she's only gotten maybe one bite here and there - she just doesn't swallow her food anymore.
We are taking her for her first plane trip on Saturday - to Florida for Christmas. I'm already paranoid about germs and people trying to touch her. Eeek! She did get her second (of five) Synagis vaccine today, so hopefully that will help ward off some germs. There is so much flu going around that it makes me cringe to think of taking her anywhere, even therapy. I wonder how people would feel about being Lysoled before coming near her?
She is doing great with physical therapy and gross motor. She is very close to standing alone - in fact, she CAN do it if she's not thinking about it, but when she realizes she's not holding onto anything, she quickly sits down. We used to be able to trick her to "clap" while she was standing and holding onto something, but she caught onto that pretty quick and now sits down and claps instead. :)
She didn't really understand the Christmas-gift concept, but she happy to have new toys!
My dad dressed up as Santa so we could get some pictures (without having to take her to the germ-filled mall), and as you can see, she was NOT a fan!
This girl is pretty smart and incredibly entertaining and funny. I love spending my days with her!
