I've been meaning to post this for days - things just haven't slowed down long enough. :)
Ruthie's stats:
Chronological Age: 11 months 4 days
Adjusted Age: 7 months 2.5 weeks
Weight: 14 lbs 13oz
Height: 26ish inches(three dr appts in one day - nobody measures her the same way)
Head circumference: 17 inches
Diapers: size 2 - starting to get a little snug against her legs, but still plenty of room in the waist
Onesies & Dresses: 6 months if it's a dress or pants/shorts, 6-9 if it's an outfit or shirt, she never really wears onesies now
Sleep'N'Plays (what we use for pjs): 6-9 months or :::gasp::: 9 months (for length)
Shoes: still a 0-1, but she has yet to keep shoes on for more than 5 minutes, so I don't bother
Teeth: we are FINALLY seeing the very tippy edge of her left top tooth. She has been super cranky about it lately, but no others have appeared yet.
Naps: Our biggest issue. Sigh. It has been about 2 30-min naps of late. We're working on napping from 11-1 and 3-4/5. Key word being "working."
Sleeps: 6:45/7:00pm to 7:30/8:00/occasionally 9:00am
Feeds: 100% G-tube fed. We are making some (incredibly slow) progress with baby food. Details below.
Personality: She keeps us laughing! She's learned how to fake cough/laugh/sneeze/squeal...anything that she knows will get our attention and then she laughs at herself. She is so very funny! She is sitting up really well and when she does fall back, she usually catches herself or holds her head up until the rest of her "hits" the floor, so she doesn't bang her head. She rolls to both sides to get a toy she wants and while she CAN roll over in either direction, she still chooses not to unless we put her on her belly, then she flips right back over before we even have our hands off of her. Stinker. :) We're working with PT on getting herself to a sitting position from her belly, getting to a crawl position from sitting (yeah, right, lol) and using her arms more to push herself up on those rare moments that she IS on her belly. If I put her on all fours, she can hold herself there for a minute or two but she's so unmotivated to do anything that she usually just gives up and flops down and then rolls over. She LOVES to stand up and will pull herself up holding our hands. She still uses her legs for about 99% to do that but we're working on making her PULL up and not PUSH herself up. She's not thrilled about that. She is all over the bathtub now - she still bathes in her baby tub until we get the bathroom remodeled, and she has no problem pulling herself forward and onto her head (if I wasn't right there) every time I let go of her. She loves bathtime and water in general. I take her to the YMCA pool a couple times a week and she loves to splash and kick and dunk her own face in the water. She's fearless. (Of water, that is. The vacuum is another story.) She still loves to play in her exersaucer - she knows how to work every toy better than I do, and isn't satisfied until every single song is playing at one time....then she wants to get out and do something else. She has made some big breakthroughs with feeding, though she's nowhere near where she should be. She's gone from gagging/vomiting at the mere sight of a spoon to letting us put some food in her mouth. Though now, instead of gagging b/c there's food in her mouth (sometimes she still does that), she just holds it and eventually lets it all fall out. Gross as that is, it's still an improvement from a few weeks ago. She's been in OT for over four months and we've made zero progress, so we asked for a speech eval through the same company and are currently waiting on an appointment date. It's ridiculous how long it takes when every day makes this issue bigger. We're going to give speech/feeding therapy a good run and if it doesn't at least make her progress with eating, we're looking into some intensive feeding programs. Something has to give - she cannot be on a tube forever when she doesn't "medically" have to be. We're learning more than ever that this is not a sprint, it's a marathon, and we're still a long, long way from the finish line. Ruthie got her very first haircut this month - just an inch off the very top of her "sprout." It was constantly getting in her eyes and when I gave her the "Pebbles" hair-do, it looked all scraggly. It was harder to make that cut than I thought it would be, but it looks better now. She is overall such a happy baby and we adore every minute with her!Sorry these pics are so scattered - I can't get them to center and I'm frustrated trying so they're gonna look great just like they are. :)
